Reservation/Cancellation Policy:

The deposit is a reservation deposit until you arrive, it then becomes a security/damage deposit and is NOT APPLIED to the rental fee. The deposit amount will be returned at the end of the stay, provided the boat or lodging is checked out on time, clean and undamaged.

The following is our Reservation/Cancellation Policy: If the reservation is canceled more than 60 days before the scheduled arrival date, 75% of the deposit may be refunded; 14-60 days notice- 50% refund, if vessel or unit is rerented; and less than 14 days result in forfeit of deposit. Pre-paid deposits may be transferred to alternative dates inside the same calendar year for a fee of $25.00. Refunds due to cancellations because of severe weather may be given for pontoon, watercraft and small gear rentals only; as determined by a marina manager. The decision will be made the day of the rental only and not based on weather forecasts. On multiple day rentals of pontoons, deck boats, or PWC’s your deposit is nonrefundable if any of the days are canceled. Lodging room number requests are considered, but not guaranteed. No pets allowed on any rentals.

What does the cancellation policy mean? Let’s break it down.

“The deposit is a reservation deposit until you arrive, it then becomes a security/damage deposit and is NOT APPLIED to the rental fee.”

With each of our rentals, we ask that a deposit is paid to solidify the reservation. The deposit is due at the time of booking. Deposit amounts vary by rental. Your deposit total is not applied to your rental, so your rental total is separate from the deposit and should be treated as such when budgeting your trip.

“The deposit amount will be returned at the end of the stay, provided the boat or lodging is checked out on time, clean and undamaged.”

We keep your deposit until you check out. When you check out, we will make sure the boat or unit you have used is undamaged, clean, and that you made it back at or before your check out time. Once those three criteria have been met (on time, clean, and without damage), we will return your deposit to you via the card it was originally charged on.

“If the reservation is canceled more than 60 days before the scheduled arrival date, 75% of the deposit may be refunded.”

If you cancel with more than 60 days till your reservation, we will refund 75 percent of your deposit to you. For example, if you cancel with more than 60 days till a 12-person pontoon rental, you would receive $262.50 of your original $350 deposit back. Therefore, with the cancellation policy, you would forfeit $87.50 of the original deposit.

“14-60 days notice- 50% refund”

If you cancel within 14-60 days till your reservation, we will refund 50 percent of your deposit to you. For example, if you cancel with more 14-60 days till a 12-person pontoon rental, you would receive $175 of your original $350 deposit back. Therefore, with the cancellation policy, you would forfeit $175 of the original deposit.

“and less than 14 days result in forfeit of deposit.”

If you cancel with less than 14 days till your reservation, we will not refund any portion of your deposit to you. For example, if you cancel with less than 14 days till a 12-person pontoon rental, you would receive $0 of your original $350 deposit back. Therefore, with the cancellation policy, you would forfeit $350.

“Pre-paid deposits may be transferred to alternative dates inside the same calendar year for a fee of $25.00.”

You always have the option to reschedule your rental for a minimal fee. If you still want to use your reservation but it needs to be moved to another day, we can do so for a $25 fee. Rescheduling instead of cancelling also means that you will receive your deposit back after you complete your rental day. Reschedule dates must be done within the calendar year (Jan-Dec).

“Refunds due to cancellations because of severe weather may be given for pontoon, watercraft and small gear rentals only; as determined by a marina manager. The decision will be made the day of the rental only and not based on weather forecasts.”

Sometimes, weather decides to mess up your plans for a lake day. We understand; however, as a seasonal business, we rely on our customers to be faithful to their scheduled rental date. Because of this, refunds for severe weather are provided in majority of the day unsafe circumstances only. If it is only raining for the MAJORITY of a rental day, you are expected to use your rental. If it storms for a small portion of your rental day, you are still expected to use your rental. Essentially, unless severe weather (thunderstorms, high winds) impacts the MAJORITY of a rental day, the rental cannot be cancelled without forfeiting the deposit. Cancellations and free rescheduling are not conducted based on forecast either. As any Kentuckian can tell you, it can be sunny and 75 one day here then snowing the next. The forecast is unpredictable and not always correct.

“On multiple day rentals of pontoons, deck boats, or PWC’s your deposit is nonrefundable if any of the days are canceled.”

If you rent a unit or vessel for multiple days, cancelling one of your days after paying your deposit will result in its forfeiture. This is because it is likely another customer wanted the unit or vessel for that same day, and it was previously unavailable because of your reservation. Because of this, that customer was unable to rent with us; therefore, we keep your deposit to substitute for the lost day of revenue with the unit or vessel.
